Los Angeles is subject to earthquakes due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire. Los Angeles has a Subtropical-Mediterranean climate. The average annual temperature in downtown is 66 °F (19 °C): 75 °F (24 °C) during the day and 57 °F (14 °C) at night.
